Life Cycle

One UV-LED curing system lasts more than 20000 hours (under normal condition according to recommendations) .Most lamps provide 400~ 1000 hours work approximately. So the life cycle of one UV-LED curing system equals to 20~50 UV-lamps. Moreover we give a 3 year guarantee on UV-LED mainframe.

Replacement Cost

Every 3–4 months you will have to pay about $800 for lamp replacement (actually both of them at the same time), 50 lamps with 1000W light power costs you $40000, not to mention the cost of the media replacement. But for UV-LED curing system, you will not have any additional charges for replacement within 20000+ hours lifetime.

Electricity/power consumption

The UV-lamp system requires about 3KW~4.5KW electricity consumption per hour, you have to pay for thousands of dollars per year on electricity bills. However, UV-LED curing systems save your much money because power consumption of LED is low.

Recycle cost

UV-LED does not contain mercury. As for UV-lamps they are consist of carcinogen including mercury and heavy metal salts, which are very toxic. You have to face the recycle cost and the cost in permitting, reporting, and personnel protection.

Heat generation

Operating temperature of UV-LED is 5 °C higher than the room temperature, and for UV-lamp it is about 500 °C. This high temperature may lead to increase in defective rate. UV-lamp defect the media during printing and doesn't provide customers with stable quality of the end product. In contrast, UV-LED technology enables printing on almost all kinds of substrates even on thin film, thin plastics, foam plastic (ceiling tile), paper, and leather.

Mercury and ozone

Unlike UV-lamps, UV-LED curing system doesn't contain mercury. Also, UV-LED technology allows printing without ozone emissions. There is no need to provide extra protection for equipment and personnel health. However, UV-lamps generate ozone during the printing process, which may lead to cancer.

All in all, UV-LED technology offers advantages over the lamp systems and provides significant benefits.
